Who we are
SCC
The Sustainable Construction Centre features sustainable products and construction practices through displays, exhibits, lectures and events. In the short term, SCC will operate facilities in four major Canadian markets: Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and Calgary. These centres feature best green products and construction practices from Canadian and international sources. Each SCC location operates as an information and resource centre about green construction technology adapted to local market trends. Together, these four Sustainable Construction centres help position Canada as a leader in green construction technology.
As they build broader awareness of green building practices within the construction industry and among the public, Sustainable Construction Centre foster growth of the Green Economy and innovation. Direct contact with industry experts and public feedback also foster innovation.
Sponsors
The Sustainable Construction Centre relies on partners to help design, build and maintain high quality displays in its facilities. Sponsors also help fund special exhibits, lectures and events. Sponsor recognition provides generous exposure for each contribution. While direct exposure is valued, partners and sponsors also benefit from a stronger local Green industry.
Members
Members consist of government agencies, utility companies, municipalities, industry organizations, suppliers, builders, architects, engineers and other construction industry partners. Members are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting and receive regular updates.
SCCS
The Sustainable Construction Centre operates at arms length from construction industry suppliers. It serves as an independent jury that selects products and best practices based on tests, performance, lifecycle costs, energy consumption, widely accepted standards and science. Members of the SCCS Board of Directors play an advocacy role in promoting sustainable construction.
